    • The Hepy Urease Test is an innovative, extremely rapid dry urease test for the detection of Helicobacter pylori bacteria.
    • The CLO test is considered by gastroenterologists to be the “Gold Standard” for the detection of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) using the urease method on biopsy specimens, due to its high accuracy and reliability.
    • A positive sample changes color from yellow to purple within 20 minutes in 75% of patients with H. pylori, within one hour in 85% of positive patients, within 3 hours in 90%, and within 3–24 hours in the remaining 5%.

    Application
    The Urease Test is intended to detect Helicobacter pylori in biopsies from the stomach or duodenum. The principle of the test is based on the physiological ability of Helicobacter pylori to produce large amounts of urease. This enzyme decomposes the urea present in the test, which results in the release of ammonia causing a color change in the test ring from yellow to pink and possibly further to magenta and purple.
